What is Mòsámbò?

It is a public speech with its own protocol and rules. It is used to resolve conflicts or to share feelings, or suggestions to improve coexistence in the group.

"If you think about it, it's actually a good way to maintain healthy relationships with others. You wake up, get the discomfort off your chest, and then just go about your day without thinking too much or internalizing it."

Mòsámbò is one of the most important spaces through which everyone, regardless of age or gender, can contribute to community decisions, criticism of people's behavior, etc.

Everyone is expected to stop whatever they are doing at the time, everyone must listen to the speaker. What if you disagree with the speaker? Then, share your opinion in your own mòsámbò, when the person is done with theirs.
