Quantum physics is well over 100 years old at this point. Quantum physics-based devices are _not_ rare. You're using one right now.
- Photosensors and digital cameras are use the photo-electric effect (one of the historical origins of quantum physics)
- LEDs? Quantum physics. Lasers too.
- Microchips? Heavily based on quantum physics.
