I know #Mastodon is very anti-algorithm. On the complete opposite #Bluesky is all about finding the right algorithm.
A first step was made yesterday when they published the first source code examples of a custom algorithm. In-app support for this will be part of a new app release in the coming weeks.
I think this opens up a new market of possibilities. There will be a lot of crap, but there can be potential feeds that truly help explore interests etc.
