I had a Facebook connection join Nostr, and when he joined and posted something of what he was doing (He's a teacher in Nigeria) I sent him 10 sats. He got really excited and started asking questions about what he could do with it, how he could exchange it for NGN and spend it, etc. He got a good price quote from someone in Turkey and was getting ready to send it ON CHAIN. I think I stopped him in time. I hope so.
An excerpt from a much longer conversation:
"10 sats is NOT a lot of capital. But one thing that is important to realize is that those sats belong to you. They don't depend on currency exchange values, they can't be taxed away, they can't be stolen from you. The only way to move them is by consciously choosing to send them to a different wallet. That can't be said of any other type of money. Paper money can be stolen. Bank accounts can be taken by the bank or by the government. Bitcoin changes the game. You can't do much with 10 sats right now. But you can earn more and then you can choose to do something with what you have."
