One of the reasons why we started this online account is because we live in a conservative neighborhood.
In this neighborhood, maybe 5 neighbors only have recycling trash. When people have extra trash they prefer to burn it in the backyard instead of paying a fee. And when I talked about composting to our direct neighbors the answer I had was it is too complicated.
If I decided to start a community composting station I would have to explain over and over that we are not the landfill and will find myself over a mount of unwanted trash.
It is frustrating to have to live around those ignorant people who have no idea that trash can be a treasure. And of course, if you are an outcast in their community it is virtually impossible to start any project.
This is why we love #mastodon we can here meet people who are less dumb when it comes to the environment.
