This is actually possible on the 2016+ macbooks. all of their speaker hardware is limited in software so if you did something stupid with sound you could actually blow your speakers. in fact in around the time the new macs came out, there was a TON of reports of people installing windows via bootcamp only for windows to blow the speakers.
