I am sort of stoned and having a thought that I cant tell if is profound or obvious, and before I say it I want to head off ppl listing why it is obvious by clarifying that I am indeed a former sensory physiologist:
It's amazing how there are few if any things that smell like food but arent food. Conversely, its amazing how almost all things that are food smell like food.
