Crime is near a 50 year low but elected officials on a bipartisan basis keep pushing for billions more to cops and draconian 90s style "tough on crime" policies that don't work -- but they do increase inequality and discrimination.
To some extent, it's a product of white hysteria and a media that scaremongers about cities and minorities. But increasingly, it looks like the wealthy elite are putting the screws to us with the intention of making things even worse.
