Industrial man needs extremely large amounts of completely uninterrupted power to produce things like solar power cells.
My preference would be degrowth, but given that's not happening, fusion is our only hope.
Please note that even though renewable use grows exponentially, fossil fuel continues to grow exponentially too, albeit at a lower rate. But to survive, we need to stop burning fossil fuels almost entirely.
