You're describing how things are, but not why. There's no particular reason things should be that way. You have to take St. Augustine's theory of ontology for this to work, where there are ontological goods grounded in God (or something like a God) that things fall further into dysfunction as they move away from.

It's a similar problem to "Why is there something instead of nothing?"

Whatever the precondition for being is, it has to account for this structure. It can't just be because it is, unless you want to say being itself is God.
