I think this is a significant point: that anger is always personal and directed at a particular individual (real or imagined). People are never angry at an idea or a group of people, but at some personal slight or threat, enacted by some person. That is why anger is best induced through scapegoating (to give people a target for their anger) and assigning blame to individuals or caricatures of individuals.
