People are people, everywhere. The Church has actually done a lot to clean up its act.
We have similar problems in other school systems, sports clubs, etc. but there's no way to easily sue them, collectively. You can always only sue one particular coach or principle, or whatnot. You can't discover one pedophile from 30 years ago, sue everyone up to the governor, and walk away a billionaire.
