One reason I’m a proponent of #degrowth is because the best quality of life I ever experienced was living in Mexico on < $500 a month. Traveled everywhere on foot or by bus: no need for a car. Worked as a restaurant musician. Lovely but simple apartment. Walked to the market every day to buy fresh produce from people who knew me by name and I them. Washed clothes by hand in public wash basins surrounded by beautiful gardens, flirty housewives and cute babies. Good, cheap dental and medical care.
