And those who've spent their money on one(or multiple) instead of stacking more sats will figure out the hard way. If you bought a hardware wallet from a company, you have effectively announced to the world, including governments and potential threats, that you own #bitcoin. At some point, they will come after you and your coins. Good luck.

I wouldn't use the word "scam" for what he's describing here, but the hardware wallet companies definitely work hard to shape the information landscape around cold storage issues, and often don't help users understand the tradeoffs involved with their devices. Glad to see more people GROK-ing this.
