There are. You can retro-fit your diesel car to run on old frying oil or fat. My dad wanted to do it for a long time. You'd put a heated fat container into your trunk and connect it to your injection. Just don't forget to switch to diesel some km before reaching your destination or you'll need some external heating to get going again.
