Let's recap:
- The Russian bet blew up in their faces, literally, with Nord Stream. Ever since the land network of gas pipelines has mostly been shutdown.
- Habeck oversaw the end of nuclear energy in Germany himself.
- Domestic lignite is set to be phased out completely by 2039 (he alread backpedaled on the earlier 2030 goal).
- Now he's attacking US LNG?
I don't see how Germany has a lot of options left to power its industry. Already, plants are closing, the German economy is shrinking as high energy prices are killing it. He wants more of this?
If he gets into another coalition, I think Europe is going to see a big shift in the next four years, with Germany becoming a less and less relevant power, with high unemployment and a dying industry. Indeed, a warning for the rest of the world.
