Agree with you on both solar and wind turbines.
But, in general, industrial society was built on fossil fuels for very, very good reasons - energy density and reliability. But the only low-carbon fossil fuels are Uranium and Thorium.
Solar is nice to have, as an intermittent backup and to power intermittent price-critical loads (like Bitcoin).
