I never listen to the radio so podcasting, music and audio books are my go-tos.
I'm just getting mixed signals lately.
Listeners will jump through hoops to get content but podcasting apps are too hard to use??
Listening in the car is too hard?? We have Carplay/Android auto, bluetooth, FM adapters and even cassette adapters so I don't see the issue.
Sounds like people just want to hit a button on their device and have it play something for them.
I know I'm a very old school podcast listener (i used to sync them to my iPod Classic 5th gen when it was new) but I'm also mainly a mobile user and these apps work great and have really done a great job adding all these PC 2.0 features.
Are they perfect? no but what software is? I just don't see the issue.
