I’d argue that isn’t true. It’s why most new people who I onboard have the worst time trying to understand how to setup a wallet and it takes a lot of time to explain how Lightning works, what an LNURL is, why only some wallets support it, where to get your address from and add it to your profile. Getting someone to download one app is hard enough. Asking them to have two or even three in some cases, or two apps plus a website just to sign up for a social network AND learn about private key management at the same time is almost impossible, which is why they usually don’t come back.

Put yourself in the shoes of the average user. If you can’t onboard someone in 30 seconds while they’re drinking at a bar, you’ve basically lost them.
