I agree with this take, but would add that I don't put that squarely on David. Canada was not good at all for a very long time, and while improving & able to compete with the best, they don't seem built to score. It feels like goals are pleasant surprises. I don't watch every match, but I can't recall any match when any forwards has been dominant. Not saying it doesn't happen - I'm saying I don't expect it/can't recall it.
