Not human of course, but a beautiful, sovereign creature non the less.
I don’t like it. I always wish I could explain to them why making a different choice would benefit everyone. Reason with them. Let them see they could have a long life elsewhere. Let them see I would prefer friendship. But instinct is strong sometimes. And I have to protect our livestock. So you do what must be done.
But I sat with him in his last moments and told him I was sorry things ended this way. And in some weird way, he seemed to understand.
I prefer life. And I never want to become callused and unfeeling.
