For some reason "Is HTML a programming language?" discourse has resurfaced this morning. So, I just want to say:
ASCII is a programming language. It's a program that runs on a terminal. It's a sequence of bits that directs a display device to show specific images.
And don't even get me started on Unicode. It's the poster child for Accidentally Turing-Complete.
