When I was hired to run communities in web3…
I saw first hand how many adults who have more than enough money, were scamming folks who had less, so they cld have EVEN more. 😢
I was invited to research NFTs and fell right into the bull run of 2020. It was intoxicating and so much fun. 🐂
Suddenly I found myself earning more money from trading than from my private practice, wellness centre & retail shop. 💰
From there I was invited to join a project that quickly became one of the biggest nightmares of my life. 😦
It was a few months in of working 17-20 hour days before I realised I was working for scammers. By that I mean a team that was only in it for the fast buck & then rug pulled straight after mint- leaving me there to pick up the pieces. I felt responsible and ashamed for being a part of something dodgy by association. 🧹
Where I went wrong:
🙉 Not listening to the warning signs when the Founders wanted me to be the face of the project as a totally inexperienced newbie. I was so flattered & excited for the opportunity that I didn’t question WHY they didn’t want to be the face of their own project. Answer: so they cld leave it
☺️ Trying to reassure the community instead of just getting out, I stayed & kept trying yo convince the Founders to make good on their promises to hodlers. This made things much worse. My discernment was lacking. The writing was already on the wall. I should have called them out & got out but I foolishly believed I cld somehow get them to stay.
💪🏽 My ppl pleaser didn’t stand up to those in charge until things got much worse and even then it made no difference.
🏥 I ended up in the hospital from the stress which ended up being a blessing as that overnight rest got my head clear and ready to exit the whole mess.
😩 I lost money, my fellow holdlers lost money. All because a few guys with more than enough money, wanted more at any cost.
🙈 That mess showed me how gullible I can be, it also showed me the shit behind the scenes of POS.
I love BTC now. POW is my jam. It’s been a rough road to get here but worth every effort. I’ve learned the hard way as an almost 50 mum & business owner with no techability that I can find my way through this maze and I can embrace early adoption standing on my own two feet.
