I bet ancient Chinese has a bunch of antiquated vocabulary with uncertain meaning too. That's another problem in Old Testament translations. You get the illusion of a complete, coherent work, but the reality is a lot of times the Hebrew makes no sense and translators are duct taping together coherent sentences. The entire first chapter of Ezekiel is virtually unreadable in the original language, so is the Melchizedek psalm, and many other famous "esoteric passages"
Quite often, to the extent a meaning can be guessed at, it's only because we also have ancient translations into other languages (usually later Aramaic or Koine Greek) where they chose to translate very liberally. I doubt Chinese literature has that benefit.
