The US has not passed a law regulating the cosmetics industry since 1938.
Less than 10% of the tens of thousands of new chemical ingredients used in these products have been tested for safety.
Originally, only 11 chemicals were banned, but in September 2022, the FDA banned 18 more… yes, only 18.🙄
In contrast, the European Union has banned over 1300 chemicals as a precautionary measure, while the US requires ample evidence of harm before banning a substance.
