Ads in publications is easy, that’s not a problem in Mastodon. Ads for publications are either forced or chosen. Forcing ads in an open system is not possible, correct, but why would users use a system where ads are forced without any benefit to you? Chosen ads are possible in Mastodon (just follow them).",
