Not so much around here but in larger towns and cities I visit, more and more manned checkouts (which were rarely open anyway) now replaced with self checkouts
One of the larger ones I visit now has only 5 manned tills available, used to be 30+
I agree with the whole 'I don't work here' argument but would rather get through quicker, not getting stuck behind some old dear who takes forever, wants to have a chat and can't find her money
