The nightmare I went through to get a real id. I had to get divorce papers, with court seals on them from a divorce in 1993. Birth certificates, university transcripts, change my social security name, it was absurd. I tell all young women to not change their names, now that we live in a panopticon that can’t access its own data if it’s useful to a citizen.
