…It sounds too controlled, but the point of conveying emotion is not to control it, but to harness and focus it in the direction you want.
Also, his voice sounds either very compressed, or (my guess) just without a lot of dynamics…again, controlled AF. And dynamics and breath are ways to convey emotion. So without those little fluctuations in pitch, dynamics, and vibrato—even inside single words, let alone across phrases, it does indeed sound eerily robotic.
