Karnage on Nostr: I’ve been out of the “normal world” for so long that “normal” conversations ...

I’ve been out of the “normal world” for so long that “normal” conversations feel abnormal to me. The things people care about and discuss day to day feel so mundane and uninteresting.

I’m trying to pinpoint exactly when the shift happened for me. I think it may have been when I started freelancing and become more involved in the startup community. My focus shifted from “what’s happening on twitter?” to “what’s happening in the startup community?”

Then in about 2020 or so, I started becoming more involved day to day in the bitcoin community. At some point I joined the bitcoin design slack and spent most of my day hanging out there while still doing freelance design work.

From there, my attention shifted to “what’s happening I the startup community?” to “what are we building in bitcoin today?”

And now nostr. I’m so far removed from the regular world topics, I have no idea how I could ever live that timeline again. I couldn’t. Nostr + bitcoin or nothing.
