There is ongoing work on an embedded 802.11 stack written in #RustLang at <https://github.com/Frostie314159/ieee80211-rs>;, and the author is soliciting feedback (eg. via <https://www.reddit.com/r/rust/comments/1dwszwa/writing_an_80211_frame_parser_in_rust/>;). If you are familiar with embedded development and WiFi, please chime in.
Given that many embedded WiFi stacks rely on proprietary vendor blobs, this (and the #ESP32 Open MAC project it is related to) are important steps toward devices under control of their users.
