The only reason big tech sneakily opts you into things and doesn't keep you informed is because they are (simply put) doing evil things. They don't respect you, you are just numbers in a bank account.
If you were informed you'd choose against their data hoarding and the squeezing of every last cent out of you. You'd choose sane amounts of privacy. The only reason you don't have other choices is because of already insane amounts of monopoly.
