UK is an appallingly low wage to cost economy. £60k doesn't actually stretch that far into luxuries so much as ensure some stability and basic comforts like being able to heat and eat, run a car, have childcare, and a decent home -- also maybe a modest holiday, some meals out, some new clothes, haircuts etc. \n\nThis pretty average (for a rich country) lifestyle is beyond 90% of incomes! Well-off doesn't feel so well anymore",
