There is a very dangerous bias most of us have — experience bias.

It’s when we experience an outcome several times and start expecting future outcomes based on our past experiences. But sometimes, this can lead to a disastrous mistake.

For example, thinking you can trust new people because your past interactions with others were trustworthy.

Or assuming it is safe to pet a street dog because all the dogs you met before were friendly.

Or believing you can cross the street without getting hit by a car because drivers have always stopped for you.

Or thinking it is safe to eat at a random roadside café because you’ve never been poisoned before...

It is crucial to evaluate all the factors involved. If new, uncontrollable forces or participants are introduced, the outcome can change drastically.

Always pay attention. Always analyze. Be smarter!
