If we are evil-corp or evil-gov and we wanted to run a fungibility attack on Bitcoin, would these covenants actually help us? Now this part does get super technical, but I think it helps to set as the benchmark existing restrictive multi-sig setups, say a 2 of 2.
‘Blacklists’ are pretty easy to get around, just make new addresses.
‘Whitelists’ are a bit more tricky. That is a lot more impactful, but also a lot harder to build.
The thing with recursive covenants is that they are so rigid and permanent… but does that also make them bad for implementing this ‘whitelist’ setup? How can you update your Fedcoin whitelist setup? Perhaps 2-of-2 mutli-sig would be better simply because it is more flexible?
