The actual “news” could often be reduced to maybe five or six simple sentences if you remove all of the opinions and speculation and just list what is known.
In theory a political expert with more information could speculate in ways that might offer something— but this isn’t most of what is going on. That’s why so much news, even serious news revolves around personalities: our reality show characters.
It’s like that game “Damage” invented by Ian M. Banks— and we are all “motties” AND “lives”
