the media asset manager and scheduler for New Ellijay TV is comprised completely of a single hand-written web page full of modern-ish html and css and javascript supported by a handful of php scripts providing an api for the data stored on disk as flat files and a sqlite database, with no build system or framework or required dev tooling stack (I've been using vim with no plugins) and honestly at this point you couldn't convince me to touch a react or an angular or what have you for any good reason.
