There are no good guys in geopolitics. States are moved by interest, and not by lofty ideals.
Iran didn't attack Israel over 6 months of genocide, but over the destruction of a diplomatic building, which amounts to a casus belli under international law.
I don't say this to undermine Iran's support of the Palestinian cause, but to stress that said support is guided primarily by State interest, which includes "walking the walk", that is, making appear as real that they are a "Islamic State".
