I started a sim racing forum, successful a few years ago, now quiet but still running. Strangers became friends, the games receded a bit into the background and we all learned about the various worlds around us. I guess if you don't do it, it seems weird but it isn't. Face to face is good but it brings up other obstacles. IMHO, that is.
