Wealth and high standards of living come from an abundance of goods and services at affordable prices, not from producing everything yourself. Specialization and division of labor is the basis of the wealth of nations.
All this will do is import shitty, low paying jobs to produce goods at higher prices and create scarcity on goods USA can't produce themselves.
