For this photo, I used a Sigma 150-600 mm Contemporary lens. It is relatively affordable - less than $1000. I have it paired with a Canon 5DS-R which is an older model w/o many features; but it does have a 50.6 megapixel full frame sensor.
I also frequently shot with a Canon 6D paired with a Canon 100-400 mm lens Ef and a 1.4x extender. They work smoother together and are lighter, but don’t have the reach of the Sigma.
