When your entire religion is based on lies, the truth hurts. So you abandon the idea of objective truth. You tell people that truth is relative. That it's subjective based on your emotions and feelings. You make people believe that truth is somehow "relative", and that each person can have their own "personal" truths.
Once you convince your religious followers that objective truth does not exist, they can be fed any lie you want without question.
