If cryptocurrencies could be shown to have any use beyond crime and pump/dump, sure, they could be allowed to exist. Assuming that the absolutely idiotic “proof of work” was removed. Now they just burn 10% of the total energy on our planet, killing it in the process. Also the tech is buggy shit. I’ve never seen so many successful scams and heists as in the cryptocurrency world.
