Today, my (retired) dad tried to convince me that ChatGPT was going to save all these companies so much money on labour and that was going to happen any day now.
I tried to explain:
- Hallucinations
- Designed templates are better than LLM generated documents, because you have to rewrite the thing anyway.
- The actual cost of operating an LLM, not including the retraining and R&D costs.
- How it's most likely another pump and dump scheme.
I don't think he got it.
