This is at Kata Tjuṯa (formerly The Olga’s), in Central Australia, 40km west of Uluṟu. Unlike Uluṟu, which is a monolith (and most of it is underground, like an iceberg), Kata Tjuṯa is formed of domes of conglomerate rock, masses of various sized pebbles & stones, naturally cemented into larger rocks or domes. It’s a beautiful place. My favourite sites in Central Australia (that I’ve seen) in order of preference, Kings Canyon (Watarrka National Park), Kata Tjuṯa, Ormiston Gorge, Uluṟu, Stanley Chasm. There’s lots more that’s also worth seeing. You’ll notice that Uluṟu is not at the top of my list. It’s probably the best known, but it’s not my favourite. If you go to Central Australia & the only geological sites you see are Uluṟu, Stanley chasm & Simpson’s Gap, you’re missing out big time. For you #GeologicalWonders
