About a week ago, I posted my funny story about reading The Bitcoin Standard. I'm here to announce that I've finished the last 9% ...
...of the sample.
This means that it is time for me to read the actual book. If the sample took me 6 months, I don't even want to think about how long it'll take me to read the whole book. years? ðŸ˜
I need a game plan to push me through this book. It is going to be difficult for me to do it alone.
Who wants to join me in a nostr book club? We can read a chapter a week and have a little discussion thread here on nostr every Wednesday.
Even though I've already read chapter 1 and bits of chapter 2. We'll start at chapter 1. It's been such a long time since I started reading so I'm due for a refresher.
I think it'll be fun, even if it ends up with just me having discussions with myself.
Funny story: I've been reading The Bitcoin Standard by Saifdean Ammous and my reader says I'm 91% done.
It has been a such a slog. I've been reading it for months, a few pages at a time. I either fall asleep or my brain needs a break.
Saifdean Ammous has written an excellent book that I would recommend to everyone who is interested in the subject of money. And honestly, if you want to be a productive member of society, you should be interested in the subject of money.
Me saying it's a slog is absolutely "it's not you, it's me." A book like this is not one that I can pick up and devour in an afternoon. I have to be in the right head space to learn and use my brain in ways that I normally don't. It doesn't come easy to me.
I'm glad I've stuck with it. The knowledge he's imparting and the way he writes is really good. This book has been a constant companion for the last few months.
I am determined to read it to the end, no matter how much longer it'll take. I will keep sticking with it. After all, I'm 91% done. just a few more pages to go...
but friends, I did say this was a "funny" story, didn't I?
I just noticed yesterday that it says "sample" on the cover. I'm 91% through JUST the sample.
I'll be lucky if I finish this book by the end of the year, stay tuned (and give me strength)
