Do people typically get a ham radio license without ever like...having seen or heard or in any way experienced it?
Like I'm mostly just an electronics fiddler who thinks this could be a fun hobby but I don't think I've ever seen anyone use a radio (at least from a hobbyist perspective I've probably seen one used in some official capacity and thought nothing of it). I have fuckin nothing to go on there.
Any of y'all get a license first then figure out what the hell you're even doing?
