The Sphinx in Egypt is absolutely insane. We know from carbon dating that it is at least 8,000 years old, which is tremendous, but it may be 80,000 or 100,000 years old. And the reason why nobody knows is because for whatever reason, humans have always been rebuilding it. You can tell just by looking at the thing that there was apparently some sort of flood, which is why there is water damage up to the neck. But the weird thing is that it is not particularly close to the Nile River. So something happened there and humans just rebuilt it.

Nobody has any idea why.

There is supposedly a room underneath its paws that has no ingress or egress and we know that because you can apparently see it using sonar. It’s just a room. And apparently if you try to access it, the whole Sphinx will collapse. People think it is protecting something. There have been a few expeditions to access that room, but twice, a war has broken out and now the Egyptian government won’t allow it because it is a tourist destination and makes too much money.
