You copied that link, if you paste it into something else, such as a notepad app, what form would it take? And are you copying from the web interface or a third party client?
Here’s why I’m wondering if it is the copy function: When you go to the post via a browser, if you go to the post on the target server (and it is not the same as your own) you can’t reply, favorite, or boost because you don’t have an account there.
Maybe when you copied the link the copy was smart enough to know that and formatted the URL so that if you used it, it would go through your server and you could act on the post. (Of course, if you share the link, this is useless if the person you shared it with does not have an account on your server.)
