Nobody wants to be the martyr but in the end they need to be dealt with directly. We may not all be in a position to deal with a psychotic sociopath but some of us can. We should support those people.
Making them "think" they won is the way to encourage more people to become like them. Society had this problem solved, we just somehow allowed big money to interfere with this process and now we can't weed out defective behaviors.
